Business-to-Business

  • The doors of opportunity are open for business and investment to local and international companies through access to the sister city program, participation in international business conferences and traveling trade missions.

Culture-to-Culture

  • Experience the customs and artistic talents that make each city and country unique. Participate in festivals, such as the Oktoberfest, the Buergermeister Ball, Lewis and Clark Days, enjoy international performing groups and other cultural activities.

People-to-People

  • Through participation in the program's exchanges, you have an opportunity to cultivate cultural understanding and communication with people around the world. Whether it's a youth, teacher or professional exchange, a community service project, an international youth artists' competition or photographers sharing their impressions of each other's cities, sister city activities promote long-term friendships and partnerships.

Committees

  • At the heart of all sister city programs is an agreement, signed by the mayor of each city, confirming their commitment to the relationship. Our sister city is represented by a committee of volunteers who have a particular interest in that city, language, country or culture. These committee members are instrumental in developing and maintaining the relationships on behalf of the Mayor and city leaders.

Volunteers

  • Members of the Sister Cities Club lend their support, knowledge and expertise by serving on committees, assisting with events and activities, providing home stays and hospitality for visiting delegations, serving as translators and tour guides or giving volunteer hours to the various programs.

Areas of Volunteer Interest

  • Dinner host, Home-host foreign student/visitor, interpreter/translator, tour guide of St. Charles, office volunteer, transportation or special events.

Supporters

  • Business, civic and cultural leaders, who share an interest in international affairs, lend their support through sponsorship of fundraising activities and exchanges and hosting delegations. The business community actively participates in the sister cities program's ongoing activities.
