Oktoberfest Dinner Dance      French Sister City   Irish Sister City

Since 1769, when French Canadian trader Louis Blanchette settled in Les Petites Cotes (The Little Hills)  the French influence on St. Charles has been unmistakable. From place names to the continental flavor of Old Town, St. Charles retains its heart of French culture even into the 21st Century.

St. Charles Sister Cities Programs have been seeking a French Sister City for some time. In order to select a suitable city, the criteria  are similarity of size, geographic location, outlook, and a mutual desire for cultural exchange.
Bill Pieper, and his group, the French-American Cultural Association have been conducting much of this search.  If you share the joie de vivre which typifies French culture, and wish to assist, Bill would be very happy to hear from you. Email piepers@sbcglobal.net for more details!

July 22, 2007 -- A wonderful Bastille Day celebratory dinner hosted by Madame Lina Takacs at her beautiful estate. The wine, the cheese, the French dishes, all wonderfully inspired, were outstanding!

Thank you, Lina!
